Support and encourage fellow runners regardless of pace, experience level, or goals.

  2. INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Welcome individuals of all backgrounds, ages, genders, and abilities.

Respect personal boundaries and privacy so that everyone feels comfortable and included on their own terms.

Make new members feel welcome at club runs by integrating them into the group, regardless of pace, and ensuring they learn the route and connect with fellow runners.

Foster an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

  3. SAFETY FIRST

Adhere to all traffic laws and running route regulations.

Run on designated paths or sidewalks and remain alert.

Inform others of hazards or obstacles on the route.

Wear appropriate clothing and gear for visibility and safety.

Where possible, run with a buddy or in a group.

Report any injuries or incidents to club leadership.

  4. PUNCTUALITY AND RELIABILITY

Arrive on time for scheduled runs and events.

If unable to attend a committed session for an organised club event where attendance affects planning, communicate with club leadership in advance.

  5. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Maintain your own physical fitness and be mindful of personal health limitations.

Carry necessary personal items such as water, identification, and a mobile phone.

  6. POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Approach runs and events with enthusiasm and a positive mindset.

Encourage and celebrate fellow members’ achievements respectfully.

Be mindful of members’ privacy when sharing achievements or posting about others. Recognition should always align with individual comfort levels.

  7. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Respect the environment by not littering and leaving no trace.

Follow the principle of “leave it better than you found it.”

  8. CLUB REPRESENTATION

Represent the club with integrity and sportsmanship at races and community events.

Wear the official club vest or t-shirt with black pants or shorts at race events, in line with the club dress code.

Respect all race rules and the regulations of WPA and ASA.

Treat race officials, marshals, and fellow participants with courtesy and uphold the club’s reputation at all times.

  9. CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Address conflicts or issues calmly and respectfully.

Seek assistance from club leadership if support is needed to resolve a dispute.

  10. PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT

Engage in club activities and volunteer opportunities whenever possible.

In the spirit of teamwork and giving back, members are expected to volunteer a few times per year. This may include gazebo duty, marshaling, time-keeping, or assisting at club events.

  11. USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION PLATFORMS

Represent the club positively on social media and communication platforms.

Use club communication channels for running-related content such as race information, training tips, photos, and member achievements.

Respect the privacy of fellow members in WhatsApp groups and activity platforms (such as Strava). Avoid unsolicited private messages and obtain consent before initiating personal conversations.

Do not engage in harassment, unwanted contact, or direct messaging that makes others uncomfortable.

Refrain from posting political, religious, or controversial content, or anything that may be divisive.

Be considerate when sharing images. Ensure photos are appropriate and that all individuals are comfortable being included.

Do not post images of minors without explicit consent from a parent or guardian.

When sharing images in WhatsApp groups, post only a selection of your best photos. Use the “Team Century” Facebook group for larger uploads.

  12. RECORD KEEPING AND ADMINISTRATION

Members are responsible for keeping their club profiles up to date with correct contact information.

All required forms, licenses, and payments must be submitted timeously.

Failure to meet administrative requirements may result in an ASA licence not being validated.

  13. ADHERENCE TO CLUB POLICIES

By following this Code of Conduct, members contribute to a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment.

Thank you for your commitment to maintaining the Century City Athletic Club’s positive culture and community spirit.
