WHY JOIN CENTURY CITY ATHLETIC CLUB
Joining a running club is about far more than just logging kilometres. At Century City Athletic Club (CCAC), you become part of a supportive, structured, and welcoming community that helps runners of all abilities enjoy the sport, improve their performance, and build lasting connections.
Whether you are taking your first steps into running or chasing big endurance goals, CCAC provides the environment, knowledge, and people to support your journey.
🏃♂️ FITNESS AND PERFORMANCE BENEFITS
Structured Training and Guidance
Members have access to structured training programs led by experienced runners and coaches. Our training caters for a wide range of goals, from Couch to 10km, 5km and 10km racing, half marathons, marathons, ultra-distance running, and trail running. Whatever your ambition, there is a pathway to support it.
Consistency, Accountability, and Motivation
Training with a group builds consistency. Knowing others are expecting you makes it easier to show up, even on the tough days. The shared commitment keeps motivation high and helps turn running into a sustainable habit rather than a short-lived phase.
Improved Performance Through Experience
Running alongside others naturally improves pace, endurance, and confidence. More experienced members are always willing to share lessons learned, practical tips, and real-world experience that can help you avoid common mistakes and reach your goals more efficiently.
👥 SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY CONNECTION
A Supportive and Encouraging Environment
CCAC is built on encouragement, respect, and inclusion. Members share challenges, milestones, and achievements in an environment where effort is valued as much as results.
Make Meaningful Connections
The club offers a genuine opportunity to meet people with similar interests and goals. Many members form lasting friendships through shared runs, races, and social events.
Group Runs, Events, and Adventures
Beyond weekly runs, the club organises races, social events, and group outings. Members often travel together to destination races, making events more enjoyable and less intimidating.
🎽 EXCLUSIVE MEMBER BENEFITS
Discounts and Club Deals
Members enjoy access to exclusive discounts on running gear and race entries. CCAC has negotiated a significant discount with SportSA, with additional club deals becoming available throughout the year.
Access to Facilities and Expert Knowledge
The club arranges access to training facilities and regularly invites professionals such as coaches, health practitioners, and nutrition experts to present talks at the clubhouse, helping members make informed decisions about their training and wellbeing.
Official Club Kit and Identity
Wearing the CCAC club kit builds pride, identity, and belonging. It also creates a strong presence at races and events and connects you instantly with fellow members on race day.
🧠 MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING
Stress Relief and Mental Health Benefits
Running is one of the most effective ways to manage stress, and doing it in a supportive group amplifies those benefits. Club life provides structure, encouragement, and a healthy outlet from daily pressures.
A True Sense of Belonging
Being part of CCAC means belonging to something positive and purposeful. It gives you something to look forward to each week and a shared identity that extends beyond running alone.
🏃♂️ OUR FOCUS FOR 2025
Couch to 10km
This remains one of our most popular and important focus areas. The program welcomes people at all levels, from those starting with walking to runners aiming to improve their 10km pace. The emphasis is on consistency, confidence, and long-term health.
Marathon, Ultra, and Trail Running
Over the years, CCAC has helped many runners progress from 21km races to marathons, ultra-distance events such as Comrades and Washie, and various trail running options. These programs operate through dedicated groups where structured guidance, shared experiences, and group support are key.
Healthy and Enjoyable Running
We aim to help members run smarter and more comfortably. By encouraging better pacing, realistic goal-setting, and injury prevention, we want running to be enjoyable, social, and sustainable—supporting long-term health rather than burnout or injury.
Developing Club Leaders
CCAC is run by volunteers who care deeply about the club and its members. These leaders pay their own memberships and give their time to build a stronger community. We actively encourage members to get involved in leadership roles as a way of giving back, growing personally, and shaping the future of the club.
